These are our first new potatoes to be "lifted" from the ground. They were first used at our Queen's Jubilee meal on 5th June and we've been eating them ever since, they're delicious. Almost makes the back-breaking watering every couple of days worthwhile.


As you can see above, just yesterday another batch was pulled up and we have another third of the left hand side of the polytunnel to go. That's before we even think about lifting the vast numbers of outdoor spuds which are coming on nicely - the "first earlies", "second earlies" and the main crop ("Sarpo" variety).
